An American company has emerged that uses artificial intelligence (AI) robots to fry chicken.

Convenience store chain Re-Up announced on the 2nd (local time) that it can deploy autonomous chef robots supported by AI technology company Nala Robotics at stores in nine regions of the USA.

The corporate said its robotic arm, called The Wingman, which focuses on chicken wings, “will use cutting-edge AI technology to serve customers fully customized fried chicken, fries and other menu items.”

He also explained, “Wingmen don’t get sick, can work 24 hours a day, and may cook any dish efficiently, improving quality and saving labor costs.”

In response to the released video, the wingman handles all the pieces by himself, from frying the chicken to shaking it within the seasoning jar and putting the food into containers.

Robots that fry chicken have been around for some time. In Korea, Kyochon F&B has been using a robot called ‘Neuromeca’ since November 2022. The corporate said it uses “custom software.”

An organization famous for using AI in food preparation is Ennea, a domestic startup that grills hamburger patties. This company is targeting the U.S. hamburger market through an investment value $12 million (about 15.7 billion won).

At this 12 months's CES, a startup called Sear Grills attracted attention by introducing the world's first AI grill, 'Perfecta,' which grills steaks.

Also, not way back, Hanwha announced that it could enter the food tech market based on Hanwha Robotics technology.

The Consumer Technology Association (CTA), which organizes CES, predicts that the worldwide food tech market will reach about $342 billion (about 450 trillion won) by 2027.
