Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg presented the vision of artificial intelligence (AI) and emphasized his will to strengthen AI competitiveness. It appears to be a move conscious of criticism that the meta is lagging behind in the sphere of generative AI, where OpenAI, Microsoft (MS), and Google are competing.

In keeping with Bloomberg and CNBC on the eighth (local time), Zuckerberg held a gathering with 1000’s of employees on the Meta headquarters in Menlo Park, California, on tips on how to mix virtual reality (VR) and AI, called the Metaverse. presented a vision.

Zuckerberg announced plans to bring text, image and video creation AI to meta-products like Facebook and Instagram.

For instance, users can use text prompts to edit their photos and share them on Instagram Stories, and so they can bring AI agents with different personas and talents to hitch AI chats on Messenger or WhatsApp.

Zuckerberg also showcased some AI products in development, equivalent to a generative AI assistant called ‘metamate’.

Meta may also host an internal hackathon event focused on generative AI in July.

“Meta will work to develop AI models which are accessible to a wider audience than its competitors,” Zuckerberg said. “Generative AI technologies will eventually help people construct recent virtual world items and experiences.” Emphasized.

Meanwhile, he downgraded the ‘Vision Pro’, a mixed reality (MR) headset released by Apple on the fifth.

Zuckerberg said on the meeting that day, “Apple Vision Pro will be the way forward for computing, however it is different from the vision of the metaverse that meta thinks.”

Vision Pro has no particularly advanced technology, and Meta is essentially the most advanced in VR.

Meta unveiled the Quest 3, a next-generation VR/MR headset on the first, just before Apple announced the Vision Pro.
