Smart AI (CEO Song Hyeong-seok), a synthetic intelligence (AI) expert, announced on the eleventh that it has accomplished patent registration for AI dementia diagnosis assisting technology.

This patent is about ‘a dementia patient management system through AI-based vocal evaluation and its driving method’. It’s a technology that collects and analyzes changes within the cognitive ability of dementia patients based on sound through big data and machine learning, and provides necessary information resembling prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and prediction of dementia using AI.

Because the related technology is concentrated on providing dementia diagnosis assistance and care services, Smart AI expects that it is going to be applicable to the event of sound-based dementia care-related systems and services in the longer term.

Specifically, it plans to deal with the worldwide digital healthcare market. Previously, on the ‘Korea-UK Bio & Technology’ forum held in London, England last month, a healthcare business strategy using AI was presented to key government officials and global scholars.

A consortium will probably be formed with the Dementia Research Center within the UK, SWITCH specializing in information security within the UK, the Royal Hospital within the UK, and Gachon University Gil Hospital in Korea to perform the ‘Korea-UK International Joint Research Project’. As well as, it plans to produce AI services resembling ‘Amy Alpha’, which provides diagnosis assistance and step-by-step care to local medical institutions within the UK.

Song Hyeong-seok, CEO of YISAI, said, “The Korea-UK international joint research project and this patent have laid the muse for entering the digital healthcare market.” , we’re currently within the strategy of filing an overseas patent application (PCT) related to AI technology.”

As well as, he added, “We plan to perform additional R&D, resembling upgrading multilingual technology,” adding, “Through this, we’ll expand our business portfolio to digital healthcare and expand our customers and investment destinations in order that we are able to quickly establish ourselves in the worldwide market.”
