The Ministry of Science and ICT (Minister Lee Jong-ho) opened a specialized curriculum in reference to the University of Toronto, Canada, a world-leading university in artificial intelligence (AI), so as to nurture domestic master’s and doctoral students within the digital field into world-class talents. It was announced on the thirty first that it might be recruiting trainees by the thirtieth of the month.

This curriculum is a course inside the overseas education project to intensively foster international high-level talent in the sector of digital strategic technology by opening a customized curriculum on the earth’s leading universities.

The University of Toronto-linked course involves 4 months of coursework (2 required courses, 2 optional courses) and a 2-month AI application project in reference to firms, attended by 30 AI convergence courses.

This was opened in cooperation with the University of Toronto on the occasion of President Yoon Seok-yeol’s visit to Canada in September of last 12 months to supply domestic talents with master’s and doctorate degrees with customized training courses specialized in AI + industry.

Recruitment of trainees might be conducted for one month until June 30, and after that, the ultimate 30 students might be chosen by early August through document screening, math and programming tests, and English interviews. The chosen trainees will receive education on the University of Toronto for about six months from December this 12 months, going through procedures reminiscent of visa issuance.

Along with domestic master’s and doctoral students, the recruitment goal has been expanded in order that young freelancers and self-reliant young people can tackle the challenge. It’s differentiated from the present Carnegie Mellon University course, which is an in-depth education for AI majors, and is designed in order that non-AI majors may improve AI convergence and utilization capabilities (AI+X) related to their major.
