OpenAI will evaluate and accept applications for funding or other support on a rolling basis. Strong preference can be given to practical applications of AI in defensive cybersecurity (tools, methods, processes). We are going to grant in increments of $10,000 USD from a fund of $1M USD, in the shape of API credits, direct funding and/or equivalents.

Offensive-security projects won’t be considered for funding presently.

All projects needs to be intended to be licensed or distributed for maximal public profit and sharing, and we are going to prioritize applications which have a transparent plan for this.
