Kwangwoon Artificial Intelligence High School (Principal Lee Sang-jong) announced on the twenty eighth that it’s going to hold an event to share the harvest of indoor vertical smart farms that it is working for the primary time amongst domestic high schools with the area people.

For profession education, Kwangwoon Artificial Intelligence High School cooperated with Nthing, a wise farm startup, in March to put in a wise farm facility that may educate latest technologies by grafting artificial intelligence (AI) technology into the agricultural sector.

Students of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Computing use smart farm facilities to use automation technology, IoT and cloud service operation technology covered in school to agriculture. Throughout the six weeks, from seedlings to planting, planting, and harvesting, students will take the initiative to grow crops comparable to romaine, butterhead, izatrix, and batavia. The crops harvested in this fashion can be delivered to the vulnerable and welfare centers through the Nowon-gu Wolgye 1-dong Community Service Center as a regional linkage project.

Park Soo-hyeok, a sophomore on the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Computing, said, β€œIt’s meaningful to find a way to use the assorted AI-related skills learned in school to the agricultural sector and share the harvest with the area people.”

Lee Kang-won, a synthetic intelligence computing teacher who also leads the ‘IOT IoT Planning’ subject and the ‘Smart Farm & IOT’ club, said, “Smart Farm is an industry that’s receiving great attention in the sphere of the 4th Industrial Revolution, and this event goes beyond easy cultivation. It’s a giant purpose to let people know that could be a field that may be applied to any field,” he said.
