KT (Acting CEO Park Jong-wook) announced on the seventeenth that it had held a final report on national digital transformation (DX) consulting for key executives of the Ministry of Digital Development and Communication on the National Assembly constructing in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

KT and the Mongolian government have jointly conducted research on DX on the national level for the past 10 weeks. At this presentation, hosted by the Mongolian Digital Department, KT’s strategy for fostering recent growth engines based on strengthening the role of a digital control tower proposed by the Mongolian government, promotion of priority tasks similar to tourism DX, agriculture DX, and e-government service advancement, and discussions on expected effects.

In the long run, KT and the Mongolian government ▲strengthening the role of the digital department’s control tower ▲nurturing recent national growth engines similar to tourism DX and agriculture DX ▲advanced e-government services (public DX) and intelligent traffic control (transportation DX), etc. They agreed to cooperate with one another for future promotion of public service and infrastructure improvement tasks.

Currently, the Mongolian government is pursuing industrial diversification to reorganize the commercial structure that’s heavily focused on mining. Particularly, with a purpose to nurture recent growth engines through national DX and expand their application to other industries, the ‘Digital National Plan’ was legislated last 12 months, and the Digital Department, the leading government department, was established to put it up for sale.

“We understand that national digital transformation is the idea for economic development, and the outcomes of this consultation will likely be of great help to the Mongolian government in making DX-related policy decisions in the long run,” said El Kembatar, Vice Minister of Digital Affairs of Mongolia. “We expect to speed up DX through collaboration with KT.”

“We support the Mongolian government’s efforts to enhance the general structure of the country based on DX,” said Shin Su-jeong, head of KT’s enterprise division.
