Gwangju City (Mayor Kang Ki-jeong) announced on the first that it can operate the Gwangju Immersive Content Cube (GCC) Military Academy to nurture global content talent that may lead the long run cultural content industry.

Gwangju Realistic Content Cube Military Academy is a world content talent training platform operated by Gwangju City, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Gwangju Information and Culture Industry Promotion Agency to construct a cultural content industry ecosystem and global network.

The primary training session will begin on March 11 and be held for 8 months on the Gwangju Immersive Content Cube and the Gwangju Visual Complex Cultural Center, that are equipped with Asia's highest level VX studio facilities.

The goal group is 150 unemployed young people (including international students) nationwide who’re all for the content field, aged 18 to 39.

The curriculum is split into 4 areas, including ▲realistic content ▲games ▲animation ▲webtoon, and is conducted in stages (roughly 1,000 hours) including basic, intermediate/advanced, and team project courses.

The realistic content field is split into two tracks, the ICVFX Engineer Training Course and the ICVFX 3D Level Designer Course, and provides education on Unreal Engine basics and realistic content video planning.

The sport field might be operated as a multi-platform game developer training course based on Unreal Engine, reflecting the demand for the sport market in 2024.

The animation field is split into modeling using the Maya program and asset (Modeling & Asset)/animation expert training courses.

The webtoon field is a training course for webtoon content creators that educates them on using Clip Studio, planning, and advanced drawing, and is operated to assist them advance into various fields, resembling employment as a producer or aspiring author.

As well as, ▲ special lectures and mentoring by current practitioners invited by firms ▲ Gwangju Immersive Content Cube (GCC) Festival (employment and start-up fair) ▲ support for obtaining a world education certification license. Gwangju plans to individually promote a company project (internship) course for about 50 of the graduates.

All training is totally free, and trainees receive a training allowance of as much as 400,000 won monthly depending on the variety of days of attendance. Excellent graduates are supplied with various advantages, including overseas training.
