Defense Unicorns is worked up to announce the event of LeapfrogAI, a latest open source project that accelerates secure Generative AI solutions for mission customers in highly regulated environments corresponding to the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and industrial enterprises.

The pace of innovation within the open source Generative AI space is astounding. As AI “eats the world”, open source models will proceed to shut the gap with industrial and proprietary models. General purpose AI models which are common in industrial/SaaS offerings are transforming how businesses operate because they’re able to so many differing kinds of tasks. Nonetheless, these general purpose models will often fail to outperform much smaller open source models which have either been fine-tuned or augmented with mission-specific data.

Defense Unicorns is constructing LeapfrogAI to enable our military, our financial systems, and other secure enterprises to leverage their data advantage by bringing AI capabilities in-house in a secure, reliable and straightforward to make use of platform. Leapfrog AI provides the flexibility to make use of open source models, fine-tune them with mission data, create and search embeddings for constructing retrieval-augmented generation systems. Leapfrog AI brings the capabilities in-house needed to construct transformative AI solutions to make mission impact.
