CB Insights, a world research specialist, has revealed the ‘World’s Top 100 Artificial Intelligence (AI) Firms’.
The reason is that 100 promising global AI firms were chosen by considering transaction activities, partnerships, team capabilities, investment firms, patent status, etc.
First, Open AI was classified into the 'model' category among the many 'AI infrastructure' categories, and took the lead ($14 billion, roughly KRW 19 trillion) based on the quantity of investment attracted. It also ranked first in corporate value and second in variety of employees.
Antropic, which is within the highlight as 'Claude 3', ranked third when it comes to corporate value, 2nd in investment attraction, and third in variety of employees amongst firms within the 'AI infrastructure model sector'. The funds held are $4.154 billion (about 5.6 trillion won).
French company Mistral AI ranked 4th when it comes to funding and fifth when it comes to corporate value. Moreover, Hugging Face, an open source hub, ranked in the highest 10 in all criteria. Within the case of Sakana AI, based in Japan, the company value per worker was the very best.
Popular startups reminiscent of audio and music tech-related AI startups Eleven Labs and Suno also ranked within the rankings.
Amongst domestic firms, Rebel (CEO Park Seong-hyun) and Twelve Labs (CEO Lee Jae-seong) were chosen and attracted attention.
Rebel rose to twelfth place when it comes to investment attraction ($219 million, roughly 300 billion won) within the AI infrastructure model category. The company value also reached 812.244 billion won.
Twelve Labs was classified as ‘Horizontal AI’ and ranked twelfth in investment amount with $27 million (roughly 36.6 billion won). As well as, it has 47 employees and ranks tenth in head count.
Particularly, Twelve Labs is alleged to be the one company on the earth to be named within the ‘video understanding and translation field.’ After being chosen as the primary domestic company in 2022, it was listed on the list for 3 consecutive years from 2023 and 2024.
Meanwhile, greater than 50 of all firms are based in the USA. Firms from a complete of 16 countries were named.
It is understood that most of the firms that ranked last 12 months have grown into unicorn firms and succeeded in attracting investment from top enterprise capital firms. The evaluation is that the businesses ranked on this 12 months's rankings are also raising expectations.
