Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, visited Korea and met with key executives from Samsung Electronics and SK Group to secure artificial intelligence (AI) chips for the event of the following model.

In keeping with the industry on the twenty sixth, CEO Altman arrived within the country on the night of the twenty fifth and started his official schedule within the morning.

It was reported that he visited the Samsung Electronics Pyeongtaek Campus semiconductor factory within the morning. It is claimed that he had a schedule with key executives, including Samsung Electronics President Gyeong-hyun, memory business manager Lee Jeong-bae, and system LSI business manager Park Yong-in.

It is thought that he met with SK Hynix President Kwak No-jeong within the afternoon and didn’t visit the semiconductor processing site individually. I also plan to fulfill with SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won later within the afternoon.

Resulting from visits to semiconductor factories, the unique 6-hour schedule was prolonged to greater than 10 hours. It’s reported that the period of stay has also increased to 2 days and 1 night. The main points of this visit to Korea are confidential.

CEO Altman's visit to Korea was often called a part of the establishment of a 'global semiconductor manufacturing factory network'. To this end, we now have already discussed financing plans with the G42 of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Softbank, and Microsoft (MS).

Along with Samsung Electronics and SK, Intel and Taiwan's TSMC are potential candidates.
