Two people were arrested on suspicion of flying a drone at a hearth scene in Los Angeles and colliding with a firefighting plane.

The LA County Sheriff’s Office announced on the twelfth (local time) that two people were arrested on suspicion of flying a drone over a hearth in Los Angeles. Details weren’t disclosed.

This incident emerged after reports that a Super Scooper plane, which may collect 1,500 gallons (about 5,678 liters) of seawater and drop it on the fireplace, collided with a drone while suppressing the Palisades fire around 10 p.m. on the ninth.

Based on a photograph released by the fireplace brigade on the time, there was a big hole measuring 3 inches (about 7.6 cm) across and 6 inches (about 15.2 cm) within the left wing of the plane, and it was reported that the mission needed to be aborted resulting from this. Nonetheless, nobody was injured and the plane was reportedly recovered safely.

After this incident, the FBI announced that it had launched an investigation to search out the drone’s owner. The Los Angeles Fire Department warned that operating a drone during firefighting operations could end in as much as 12 months in prison or a superb of $75,000 (about 110 million won). This measure is effective until the twenty fifth.

Meanwhile, authorities said the fireplace caused $150 billion in damage, making it the most costly wildfire in Southern California history. The death toll is now 24.
