This July, the special exhibition ‘Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, 850 years of history through my very own hands’ will likely be held on the National Palace Museum in Seoul, Korea.

L’Oréal Group announced on the eleventh that it would exclusively sponsor the ‘Notre-Dame de Paris, the Augmented Exhibition’ world tour project and supply a vivid augmented reality experience to visitors.

This Notre Dame Cathedral AR Exhibition World Tour is an AR exhibition that permits you to experience the cathedral’s heritage spanning over 850 years across time and space, from the moment the cornerstone was laid in 1163 to the continued restoration process following a fireplace in 2019.

French tech startup Histobery began planning and production in collaboration with the Notre Dame Cathedral Reconstruction Advisory Committee. About 500,000 visitors have already visited from cities equivalent to Paris, Washington, Montreal, and Dubai.

Large photo panels and life-size chimera statues will likely be placed throughout the exhibition hall so as to add immersion to the AR experience. It’s explained that the vinyl flooring that reproduces the cathedral floor, the windows that appear like they were moved stained glass, and the sound of the organ and bells of Notre Dame Cathedral bring out the realism.

The viewing will likely be conducted through Historybury’s self-developed ‘HistoPad’ solution and a Samsung Galaxy Tab Lively 5 tablet. By scanning the 21 ‘Gates of Time’ with the newest Samsung Galaxy tablet, you possibly can experience the cathedral’s 3D reconstruction of key moments in history in augmented reality.

Samuel du Retail, CEO of L’Oreal Korea, said, “As a French company with 115 years of tradition, it’s an amazing honor to sponsor a national treasure-level heritage project.” He added, “We’re much more delighted to present such a special exhibition on the National Palace Museum, which preserves Korea’s long history. “I feel so,” he said.

“We’re grateful to L’Oréal Group and Samsung Electronics for allowing us to carry this exhibition in Korea,” said Bruno de Samoreira, CEO and co-founder of Histobury. “We sit up for seeing Notre Dame Cathedral reopen in 2024 after a five-year reconstruction period.” “I’m very completely satisfied to be holding an exhibition in step with this,” he said.

Meanwhile, this world tour exhibition will tour 15 cities on 4 continents world wide until Notre Dame Cathedral reopens to the general public on December 8, 2024. Recently, an exhibition was held at Westminster Abbey in London. The Korean special exhibition will begin with a gap ceremony on the National Palace Museum in Seoul at 6 p.m. on July 1, and will likely be open to all visitors free of charge from the 2nd.
