The town of Gwangju has decided to cooperate with the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI, President Bang Seung-chan) in fostering optical communication technology.

Gwangju City (Mayor Kang Ki-jeong) signed a business agreement with ETRI on the ETRI Honam Research Center on the tenth for technological advancement of key industries similar to optical convergence, artificial intelligence (AI), and mobility, and for sustainable growth in response to the long run industrial environment.

Bang Seung-chan, president of ETRI, said, “With this business agreement as a chance, we are going to do our greatest to reflect the foremost industrial policies of Gwangju City and preemptively reply to the rapidly changing global research environment to create medium and large-sized results that residents can feel and revitalize the local economy.” .
