Cisco, a world telecommunications equipment company, introduces artificial intelligence (AI) functions to its video conferencing solution ‘Webex’ and competes with Microsoft (MS), Google, and Zoom.

Based on a report by Enterprise Beat on the twenty eighth (local time), Cisco has greatly improved the function by applying AI to the WebEx product line.

To begin with, by strengthening the video function with AI within the meeting room operating system ‘Room OS’, the position of the speaker is captured at the perfect angle through face recognition and voice recognition. Audio has also been optimized.

Considered one of the main changes is the introduction of a deep neural network recovery function to take care of high-resolution, seamless streaming no matter network conditions.

It also robotically adjusts lighting to assist participants see their best. When a conference participant leaves, it robotically displays a ‘BRB (I will be right back)’ message.

It also added generative AI functions, comparable to providing real-time information for contact center agents using a big language model (LLM) and analyzing and summarizing call message data.

“AI is fundamentally changing the way in which we work and live,” said Gitu Patel, GM of Cisco. “This variation makes collaboration more efficient.”

However, the recent trend of introducing generative AI to video conferencing is distinguished.

Following the introduction of GPT-4 in ‘Teams’, MS unveiled a new edition with twice the speed. On the 14th, Google introduced a generative AI function that may robotically create meeting minutes and presentations in ‘Meet’. As well as, Zoom introduced technology that enables generative AI to prepare e-mails and calendars so that individuals who didn’t attend the meeting can summarize the contents without recording the conversation and grasp the foremost contents of the meeting without listening to the recording.
