Microsoft founder Bill Gates said that generative artificial intelligence (AI), corresponding to ChatGPT, is crucial innovation today and can change the world through it.

Bill Gates appeared on the podcast of Handelsblatt, a German business media outlet, on the nineteenth (local time) and revealed this, CNBC reported.

In keeping with this, Gates said, “Until now, AI could read and write, but in reality, it didn’t understand the contents.” The areas where generative AI could have the best impact were identified as healthcare and education.

He also predicted that generative AI would drastically change the way in which people work. “Currently, work requires an excessive amount of calculation, but the outcomes aren’t all the time accurate,” he said. “Recent programs corresponding to ChatGPT will make work more efficient by replacing invoices and emails.” In MS Teams, AI is installed, and the function that robotically organizes meeting contents is cited for instance.

“The progress over the following few years to enhance these capabilities can be profound,” he said. He added, “Everyone will need to have watched what the leading competitors, Microsoft and Google, announced.”

Meanwhile, Bill Gates co-founded Microsoft in 1975 and led the corporate for over 20 years before stepping down as CEO in 2000. On at the present time, he also joked on the podcast, “I’m inclined to 1 side (MS).”
