It is thought that Sound Ventures, an investment company run by actor Ashton Kutcher, will create a large-scale artificial intelligence (AI) investment fund value 200 million dollars (roughly 255 billion won).
Bloomberg cited an information source who requested anonymity on the twelfth (local time) to disclose this fact, and introduced Sound Ventures as one other investment company that has recently joined the boom within the AI field. He added that the fundraising goal may change.
Kutcher, who played the late Steve Jobs within the movie ‘Jobs’ (2013), founded Sound Ventures in 2015 in partnership with Hollywood tycoon Guy O’Seary, who managed singer Madonna and U2.
Thus far, it has invested in greater than 200 startups, including big names equivalent to Spotify, Airbnb, Pinterest, Shazam and Uber.
As well as, Bloomberg introduced that at the tip of last month, AI pioneers equivalent to Jeffrey Hinton, a professor on the University of Toronto, Lee Peipei, a professor at Stanford University, and former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, had created a fund value 550 million dollars (about 670 billion won). This amount is thought to be the best ever for an AI-specialized fund.
