The unreal intelligence (AI) film ‘Gulliver’s Travels to Yuldoguk’ will probably be screened on the Changwon International Democratic Film Festival on the sixteenth.
This film is an original story that mixes British author Jonathan Swift’s ‘Gulliver’s Travels’ and Heo Gyun’s ‘The Story of Hong Gildong’ from the Joseon Dynasty.
The director was Park Jin-ho, a research professor at Korea University, and So Hwi-soo, CEO of AIMZ Media. Professor Jin-ho Park even wrote the unique draft of this film’s scenario. Kim Joo-hyeon, Hong Hyun, and Cho Eun-sol, students from the Department of Applied Physics at Korea University, contributed to writing the scenario.
A characteristic of this film was its faithful narrative. Unlike existing AI-generated movies, it focused on story development.
He said, “Most AI movies are oriented toward ‘limited genres,’” and identified that greater than 90% of AI movies submitted to existing film festivals cope with topics comparable to horror, science fiction, and dystopia. He analyzed the rationale as “since the genre that AI is especially good at expressing has been determined.”
He continued, “Existing AI-generated movies also had problems with the story’s escalation and development, comparable to limited running time and lack of narrative elements,” and added, “To beat the restrictions of AI movies, we produced this movie for several months and worked hard to successfully present it.” “It’s done,” he said.
Gulliver’s Travels to Yuldo-guk is a historical fantasy genre. It is identical as director Shim Eun-rok’s ‘AI Suro Madam’ presented on the ‘2023 Changwon International Democratic Film Festival’. This area could be very rare in generative AI movies.

In regards to the movie, he explained, “It incorporates an interesting scenario imagination.”
The story is about pursuing the ‘universal values of humanity’ and pursuing a peaceful future by fusing the equal society of ‘Yuldo-guk’, the perfect society that appears in Hong Gil-dong, with the various world experienced by Gulliver. “It’s a growth narrative about Gulliver arriving in Yuldo Kingdom and learning its unique culture and values, and at the identical time, it’s a story about realizing and proving Hong Gil-dong’s beliefs,” he said.
Specifically, he said, “For an AI movie to really have a ‘movie-like’ framework, AI should be used like a real tool. Because it is just not something that could make the whole lot ‘quickly,’ it appears that evidently it must take effort and time to finish it.” .
It is alleged that as much effort went into producing this movie because it did the actual filming.
To create the worldview of Gulliver-Yuldo-guk, two seminars were held with Lee Yun-jin, a professor of English and American studies within the Department of Global Studies at Korea University. It took about 7 months simply to plan and write the scenario, and about 7 days to supply the actual scenes.
Next, So Hwi-soo, CEO of AIMZ Media, created each scene using a complete of greater than 10 generative AI programs based on the finished scenario. The result’s a running time of 16 minutes, which is under no circumstances short for an AI movie.

Gulliver’s Travels to Yuldoguk will probably be screened on the sixteenth, the primary day of the Changwon International Film Festival, under the theme of ‘AI Movie + Animation Day’. You too can see the film ‘Matteo’, which won the grand prize at the first Korea AI International Film Festival.
Meanwhile, Jin-ho Park, a research professor at Korea University, announced that he plans to publish an actual book as a follow-up to the movie inside two years.
At the tip of the movie, Gulliver’s ‘Story of Yuldoguk’ appears, and the aim is to publish it as a physical book and present it because the ‘original novel of the movie.’
