Intersolar Mexico opened on the 4th (local time) on the Centro Citibanamex exhibition center in Mexico City, concluding its two-day schedule.
The event was attended by over 400 firms from 20 countries within the fields of solar energy, solar thermal energy, and energy storage. Firms similar to SMA, Astro Energy, IM Energy, Elite, Yingli Solar, Tongwei Solar, Sunlink, and Antai Solar participated and operated booths.
There was also a conference on the potential of energy storage and solar technology. A complete of 18 sessions were held over two days, with 36 speakers. A lot of them were women, and in addition they called for gender equality within the energy industry.
The principal topics discussed here include ▲sustainable alternatives to lithium ▲sustainable energy in agriculture ▲connecting inverters and chargers ▲preparing for the longer term through energy backup ▲renewable energy facilities and energy efficiency personnel ▲solutions to eliminate gas use in industrial processes through renewable energy ▲heat energy in Mexico.
“Mexico must learn from the systems of other countries that deal with renewable energy, similar to the UK, Australia, Chile and China,” said Patricia Tato, president of Mexico Women for Renewable Energy.
David Wedpole, international director of the German Photovoltaic Association (BSW), also emphasized that “Germany has installed greater than 1 million solar systems,” and that “investment and infrastructure are the keys to success.” He also explained that “reducing bureaucracy and ensuring land availability are necessary.”
