Find out how to use Wikipedia data to visualise the recognition of top athletes and Olympic sports

We just witnessed an exquisite three weeks of sports because the 2024 Olympic Games unfolded in Paris, with hundreds of thousands of individuals watching the streams and rooting for his or her favorites. Concurrently, we saw household names crushing it again, and the subsequent generation of stat athletes emerged.

As a curious data scientist, I began to wonder how the collective opinion behind these evolves — that are the most well-liked sports, and which athletes are on the rise? Then, to place data behind this, I made a decision to do an in depth data collection from Wikipedia, containing each Wikipedia profiles and look at count information, after which compare the recognition of various sports in addition to top athletes. Below, please find my results and all of the Python code needed to breed these.
