Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, President Lim Ki-cheol) announced on the 14th that it signed a business agreement with quantum expert Norma (CEO Jeong Hyeon-cheol) to construct Korea’s first quantum artificial intelligence (AI) computing center and commercialize quantum computers.

Founded in 2011, Norma has recently expanded its business within the quantum computer hardware field and is carrying out quantum computer construction projects with various domestic and foreign institutions and firms.
GIST President Lim Ki-cheol said, “Currently, GIST is specializing in quantum and AI research and education centered on the Graduate School of AI and the Graduate School of AI Policy and Strategy, and thru continuous cooperation with Norma, we are going to construct Korea’s first quantum AI computer center by consolidating quantum technology. “We are going to contribute to the commercialization of quantum computers,” he said.
Norma CEO Jeong Hyeon-cheol said, “Using quantum AI can increase competitiveness and promote innovation across society, from the economy to science and defense.”
