Unmanned System (CEO Jeong Seong-hoon), an unmanned aerial vehicle manufacturer, announced on the 2nd that it’s going to construct a wind tunnel test device and sign an agreement with the Korea Information and Communication Technology Association (TTA) to act as a wind tunnel certification test agent.
A wind tunnel test is a test that artificially generates wind to analyze the air resistance of a moving object.
In keeping with Unmand System, the self-developed open-type wind tunnel test device (external 6x4x3㎥, internal 3x2x1㎥) enables wind tunnel tests in a safely fixed condition indoors through a three-axis jig system developed together. 3D modeling data representing fluid flow is acquired and the information is split right into a plurality of cross-sectional images. Each of those images is input to the neural network model to acquire driving information for the fan and shutter. Based on the acquired information, the fan and shutter may be controlled, through which the aerodynamics test of the aircraft may be conducted.
Until now, the thrust measurement equipment was a jig system, and the one-way measurement equipment was the just one. The limitation was that the thrust direction was in a single direction. Subsequently, Unmanned System has developed a 3-axis jig system and might collect three-dimensional flight information by measuring the thrust generated in three directions: back and front, left and right, and up and down.
Earlier, in December of last 12 months, Unmanned System signed a business agreement for mutual cooperation in unmanned mobile robot testing with TTA and Chosun University. Through this, Unmand System can be answerable for testing for wind tunnel test certification related to industrial drones previously provided by TTA.
CEO Jeong Seong-hoon said, “Up to now, drone and air vehicle manufacturing firms had to maneuver to other regions reminiscent of Chonbuk National University and Kyungwoon University, slightly than Gwangju, to receive wind tunnel test certification, but this problem appears to be resolved.” .
