Seven out of ten people were concerned concerning the infringement of non-public information resulting from the spread of artificial intelligence (AI).
On the thirty first, the Personal Information Protection Committee (Chairman High School) announced the outcomes of the ‘2024 Personal Information Protection and Utilization Survey’, which incorporates personal information protection and utilization of non-public information processors and recognition of non-public information protection of knowledge subjects.
That is the results of a survey of three,000 people over 14 years of age, including 1200 public institutions and 6,000 personal information processors in September -December last 12 months.
In response to the survey, 76.1%of adults and 76.2%of adolescents responded that the danger of non-public information attributable to AI is ‘serious’. It was found that 72.1%of adults and 71.0%of adolescents said that it was necessary to reveal the status of non-public information processing of AI services.
However, when providing personal information when using the service, only 55.4%of adults and 37.4%of adolescents were confirmed.
The rationale for not checking the consent was ‘because there are various contents and obscure’. Plainly the development of the knowledge delivery method is obligatory in order that the knowledge subject can easily understand the consent.
However, the survey of non-public information processors showed that the implementation rate of non-public information protection measures by public institutions was 99.5%and personal corporations were 59.9%.
Ko Eun -young, the Planning Coordination Officer, said, “Based on the outcomes of this survey, we’ll proceed the policy for implementing personal information trust society by systematically promoting legislative and system improvement, technical support, and inspection.”
