Reuters reported that Recent Jersey decided to not receive any more offshore wind projects after the US President Donald Trump’s offshore wind program was re -examined. This appears to be attributable to the federal administrative order and the withdrawal of Shell, a partner of the recent Atlantic offshore wind project.
Recent Jersey has proposed a goal of offshore wind power generation with 11 gigawat (GW) capability by 2040. Although the bidding of the offshore wind power project was aimed toward installing as much as 4GW capability, two of the three bidders withdrew from the fourth bidding, leaving only the Atlantic Shore, which is now collaborated with EDF.
Nonetheless, the US offshore wind power industry, which has given up on the contract and is scuffling with cost problems and construction accidents, is anticipated to be hit.
Christine Gul Sadobin, head of the Recent Jersey Public Business Committee, said, “Although the industry has provided, it is just not a responsible decision nowadays to sign a contract within the fourth offshore wind bid in Recent Jersey.”
President Trump is holding latest offshore wind projects and conducting environmental and economic review.
In a press release, the American Cleansing Power Association (ACP) said, “Recent Jersey’s decision to cancel the offshore wind project is a direct results of uncertainty that has resulted within the recent administrative order.” “We’re about to put in.” The ACP also said it plans to cooperate with the Trump administration and support renewable energy.
