Altman’s biography published in China… “Truthful, but additionally good at lying”

A biography of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman in Chinese has reportedly been published.

The South China Morning Post reported on the first that Pan Each day founder Kevin Zhou published Altman’s biography. This is alleged to be the one Chinese-language biography among the many 12 volumes of Altman’s biography which have appeared to this point.

This includes the story of how CEO Altman dropped out of Stanford University and founded his first startup, Loopt, the time he worked as the pinnacle of Y Combinator in his late 20s, and until he was ousted from the OpenAI board of directors in November 2023. It is alleged to have been contained.

Founder Zhou got to know CEO Altman personally at Stanford University 10 years ago and interviewed him just before he was ousted from the board of directors. It’s also said that this book accommodates quite a number of stories of Silicon Valley leaders, including Jeffrey Hinton, Ilya Sutskever, Yann LeCun, Jensen Huang, Peter Thiel, Elon Musk, and Reed Hoffman.

CEO Altman said within the book’s preface, “I used to be impressed by the detailed descriptions, and I would love to take part in a follow-up biography after I retire.”

On this book, CEO Altman is described as a dual personality who is typically truthful and humble, but can also be good at coping with elders and is sweet at lying. It was also emphasized, “Open AI wouldn’t have been in a position to succeed if we had not coordinated the whole company with leadership and a way of adventure.”

The creator also compared the 2 based on his experience translating CEO Elon Musk’s biography into Chinese. He described, “In contrast to Musk’s dramatic display of conflict, Altman seems to intentionally avoid conflict.”
