Jeonnam Province accelerates administrative innovation with generative AI

Jeollanam-do held a workshop for provincial and city generative artificial intelligence (AI) managers on the Naju Energy Valley Business Development Center on the sixth to hunt efficiency in administrative work in various fields, including data evaluation.

At this event, experts from the Korea Intelligence and Information Society Promotion Agency were invited to introduce the central government’s policy trends and contest projects related to the introduction of generative AI in 2025, and discuss the policy direction of Jeollanam-do and 22 cities and counties.

Jeonnam Province plans to make use of generative AI technology to streamline repetitive administrative tasks reminiscent of document writing and administrative data evaluation for public officials and to support them to give attention to creative policy planning.

To this end, we’re conducting training on using generative AI for work for provincial government officials and evaluating AI utilization capabilities to find policy ideas.

As well as, generative AI technology is being actively utilized in administration, reminiscent of producing the ‘OK Now Jeonnam’ promotional song using composition AI and producing the ‘OK Jeonnam Tourism’ chatbot to advertise Jeonnam.

Hwang Byeong-eun, Jeonnam Provincial Smart Information Officer, said, “Generative AI has great potential as a brand new innovation tool in administration,” and added, “We are going to proceed to offer higher administrative services to the residents of the province through various attempts according to technological developments.”

These efforts are expected to contribute to the sustainable development of Jeonnam Province and the advance of the standard of lifetime of its residents.
