‘Shazam’, a representative artificial intelligence (AI) music recognition app, has been used greater than 100 billion times. This corresponds to the quantity of searches for 12 songs by everyone on the earth.
Apple announced on the twentieth (local time) that Shazam has been used greater than 100 billion times since its launch in 2002.
This app was launched as a text message service in 2002, and started by providing the title by calling 2580 and playing a song. It was registered within the App Store in 2008 and the variety of users increased rapidly, and it was acquired by Apple in 2018.
It is predicated on the AI-based algorithm ‘Audio Fingerprinting’ technology, and its functions are strengthened and music is learned through machine learning.
The song whose title was most asked about through Shazam is Tones & I’s ‘Dance Monkey’, released in 2019. It was viewed 45 million times over 5 years.
“This record is a monumental achievement that not only shows how much people enjoy using Shazam, but in addition demonstrates people’s desire for brand spanking new music,” said Oliver Schusser, vice chairman of Apple Music and Beats.
