Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, President Lim Ki-cheol) announced on the thirtieth that 30 professors were chosen as among the many ‘world’s top 2% researchers’ based on paper citations. Amongst them, 11 top researchers ranked throughout the world’s top 1% were included.

Citations, h-index, and writer role from 1960 to 2023 based on ‘SCOPUS’, a superb academic paper citation index for researchers who’ve published no less than 5 papers in 22 fields. GIST reported that as of 2024, 30 professors, or 15.7% of the 191 full-time faculty members, were listed among the many ‘world’s top 2% researchers’.
