Who gave the authority to the federal government pressuring government to integrate national universities?

-

It has only been per week for the reason that ‘integrated medical school’ of Sunchon National University and Mokpo University emerged as a brand new topic regarding the establishment of ‘Jeonnam National Medical University’.

The service provider AT Kearney Korea and the law firm Jipyong Consortium held a press conference on the Jeonnam Provincial Office on October 22 and revealed the schedule for the ‘Integrated Medical School’ and the ‘public suggestion’ method.

An official from Jeonnam National Medical University, a government-recommended service provider, held a press conference on the provincial office press room on the twenty second and demanded that an integrated agreement be submitted by October twenty eighth.

In the method, a unilateral notification was made that if the integrated agreement was not submitted by October 28, the general public offering method can be enforced. That is interpreted as an unreasonable request that effectively puts pressure on each universities and forces them to achieve a conclusion quickly.

These demands are having a big impact on the local people. It is evident that the essential issue of university integration can’t be resolved in only one week.

Integration respects the independence and autonomy of every university and requires sufficient time and discussion, however the service provider is acting as whether it is urging the corporate to attract up a contract.

That is an unreasonable behavior that infringes on the autonomy of the university, and robust opposition is anticipated from not only the local people but in addition academia.

The issue is whether or not this request is an arbitrary decision by the service provider, or whether there may be intervention from South Jeolla Province.

Could a service provider exert such strong pressure with none background? That is raising suspicions, “Isn’t this a deep reflection of Jeonnam Province’s intentions?”

South Jeolla Province has a responsibility to “resolve the distrust of the local people, whether it has turn into the backdrop for the service industry and has condoned and even encouraged their unreasonable demands.”

The goal itself of attracting a national medical school to Jeonnam is encouraging, but when the method is unreasonably forced and procedures are ignored, it’s a betrayal of the trust of the community and the university.

Specifically, attempting to handle the complex issue of integration in a brief time frame is a really dangerous approach. Fair and transparent discussions are needed, and unilateral notification and pressure from the service provider will only result in greater conflict.

Jeonnam Province’s responsibility on this matter also can’t be light. There’s certain to be suspicion that the province shouldn’t be managing this service process transparently.

The community is “demanding a transparent explanation of what role the province is playing on this matter” and “calling for a cautious approach to the difficulty of university integration.”

From the start, in the course of the process during which the service provider received a request from Jeollanam-do and conducted a public offering, there was a degree where it was difficult to proceed in accordance with the service provider’s will. It’s because there was a process during which the service performance schedule was adjusted in accordance with the need of Jeonnam Province.

Considering that through such a process, “above all, a brand new breakthrough called ‘Integrated Medical School’ was reached within the presence of Deputy Prime Minister for Social Affairs and Social Affairs Lee Joo-ho,” it’s identified that “the service provider’s policy of notifying deadlines is sufficient to raise reasonable doubts.”

Due to this fact, a voice says, “If Jeonnam Province is behind the unreasonable demands of the service provider, then Jeonnam Province should immediately withdraw today’s demand from the service provider.”

South Jeolla Province should seek an affordable solution based on sufficient discussion between the local people and the university. Otherwise, this issue is more likely to cause major repercussions.
