It is thought that investors are flocking to former CTO Mira Murati, who announced a couple of days ago that he was leaving OpenAI. Like Google, OpenAI can be considered a representative ‘military school’ in Silicon Valley.
Citing two anonymous enterprise capitalists, Business Insider reported on the first that many officials in Silicon Valley are rushing to fulfill former CTO Murathi. It is because of the expectation that he’ll soon establish a brand new company.
In line with this, when one investor announced his resignation, he immediately sent an email and requested a gathering. One other official also said, “We’re doing all the things possible to fulfill her quickly.”
Former CTO Murathi didn’t reply to a request for comment.
He announced that he was leaving OpenAI through X (Twitter) on the twenty sixth of last month (local time). “There isn’t any ideal time to step away from a spot that’s dear to you, but now seems like the fitting moment,” she said. “I’m stepping away because I have the desire to make time and space to explore myself.”
There was no mention of future plans. Moreover, it was later revealed that he decided to resign on account of pressure from CEO Altman’s leadership and burnout.
Now attention is concentrated on the brand new company that former CTO Murathi will create. There are already many cases where people from Open AI have founded outstanding startups.
Most recently, top scientist Ilya Sutskever, who left the corporate in May, received a whopping $1 billion (roughly 1.3 trillion won) in seed investment. With no clear product launch plan, a big amount of cash was raised only for the name value.
Dario Amodei, co-founder of Antropic, can be a former Open AI researcher. Moreover, AI search engine Perplexity was founded by Aravind Srinivas, an Open AI graduate. Co-founder Andrei Karpaci, who left the corporate earlier this yr, recently began an AI education startup called Eureka Labs.
Former CTO Murati is the one that led the event of ChatGPT, image creation model ‘Dali’, and AI voice assistant ‘GPT-4o’. Before joining OpenAI in 2017, AI was developed at Tesla. It’s natural that investors’ expectations are gathering.
CEO Sam Altman also nodded his head regarding his sudden resignation. He wrote through
Meanwhile, Bochyek Zaremba, the one remaining member of OpenAI’s 11 founders together with CEO Altman, recently expressed his feelings about his colleagues leaving one after one other through X.
“The departure of my colleagues jogs my memory of the suffering parents experienced within the Middle Ages when six out of eight children died prematurely,” he said. But, he added, “the parents had to just accept it and find deep joy and satisfaction within the two survivors.”
