The National Police Agency (Commissioner General Cho Ji-ho) will invest a complete of 9.1 billion won over three years in the event of artificial intelligence (AI) detection technology to reply to fake content crimes similar to image synthesis technology (deepfake) and deep voice.

An budget of 600 million won and a pair of.7 billion won was allocated to the establishment of an AI investigation assistant that uses generative AI to create drafts of assorted investigative forms, and the introduction of a video evaluation program that analyzes kid’s facial expressions and movements to find out instances of abuse.

860 million won can be invested in introducing a video evaluation program to support image quality improvement and video summarization of video evidence during criminal case investigations.

Meanwhile, the project with the most important budget is the protection of the heads of state and the security management of the conference hall and accommodations for the leaders of every country attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Community (APEC) summit scheduled for November 2025. A complete of 20.8 billion won was allocated in 2025 alone.

A police official said, “The federal government budget for 2025 can be finalized through a future National Assembly review, and the police will use the secured budget to further strengthen investigative expertise and on-site response capabilities starting next 12 months to understand a police force that fulfills its responsibilities for the people.”
