Suncheon National University and Mokpo National University are contributing to regional development through regional specialized projects in several fields.
Soonchunhyang University (President Lee Byeong-un) held a gap ceremony for the ‘Goheung Campus for Aerospace Specialization’ on the Goheung Drone Center on September 13 and started full-scale operations.
This campus goals to foster aerospace technology innovation and artistic convergence talents centered across the Naro Space Center, and 13 billion won is anticipated to be invested by 2027.
Soonchunhyang University has set a goal of nurturing 800 everlasting young talents within the aerospace field, establishing an AI convergence research center, and fostering 20 local small and medium-sized enterprises. Starting with a practical aerospace program, it plans to offer R&D-based education and promote lifelong education for local residents.

Mokpo National University (President Song Ha-cheol) held a ‘Mokpo National University Medical School Attraction Promotion Campaign’ at Mokpo Station Square on September 13 to have fun Chuseok.
Mokpo National University conducted this campaign to enhance the medical infrastructure within the western a part of Jeollanam-do and to convey the area people’s desire to draw a medical school.
About 40 people, including National Assemblyman Kim Won-i and Mokpo Mayor Park Hong-ryul, attended and distributed promotional materials to visitors returning home and informed them of the necessity to attract a medical school.
Each universities are pursuing innovation of their respective fields and playing a pivotal role in regional development and economic revitalization.
