Former South Jeolla Province Gwangyang Fire Station Chief Jeong Gang-ok was honored with the grand prize in the hearth safety merit category.
In accordance with Gwangyang Fire Department on the eleventh, Gwangyang Fire Department Chief Jeong Gang-ok received the ‘Fire Safety Merit Award’ on the 2024 Proud People Who Shined within the Republic of Korea Awards Ceremony held on the Korea Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul on the eleventh.
The ‘Proud Person Awards Ceremony’ is an awards ceremony held to find and encourage true figures who’ve achieved national development and are worthy of praise in Korean society with their strong sense of mission and firm national outlook within the fields of politics, society, culture, arts, science, sports, general corporations, and public office. It’s an awards ceremony held to encourage the efforts of great figures who’ve contributed to constructing a healthy country and raising national prestige to the world, thereby honoring Korea.
Chief Jeong Gang-ok of Gwangyang Fire Station was highly praised for his diligent performance of his duties, his contribution to making a stable working environment by alleviating PTSD and providing psychological support to firefighters, and his lively progressive administration by making significant contributions to the approval of compensation for workers who died on duty or were seriously ailing during field activities.
Jeong Gang-ok, the chief of Gwangyang Fire Station, said, “I’m simply doing what I actually have to do, and I’m grateful and honored to receive this great award.” He added, “I’ll proceed to perform my assigned role in order that I can contribute to the healthy development of our Korean society.”
