It has been reported that Naver’s (CEO Choi Soo-yeon) artificial intelligence (AI) research lab has proven domestic AI technology by recording a high variety of paper citations.
Ha Jung-woo, head of Naver AI Research Lab, announced on the eleventh through social media that as of the eighth of this month, the variety of citations for Google Scholar papers had exceeded 40,000.
Google Scholar is the world’s largest academic resource site. Naver’s papers particularly had ‘H-index’ and ‘i10-index’ of 76 and 219, respectively. Which means there have been 76 papers cited greater than 76 times, and 219 papers cited greater than 0 times.
As well as, it was reported that there are currently three researchers, including Director Ha Jung-woo, who’ve surpassed 10,000 citations inside Naver AI Research Institute. It was emphasized that the majority of the researchers have rapidly increased the variety of published papers and the variety of citations since joining the AI Research Institute.
Director Ha Jung-woo said, “Once we first began forming the team in 2017, I used to be the one member who could write a paper by myself,” and added, “Considering that the actual members joined in 2018 and that research results began coming out in 2019, it is actually an incredible achievement in only five years.”
He continued, “It is very meaningful in that there is nearly no easy industry-academia collaboration and a lot of the research is conducted by internal researchers, and the research results are conducted by hiring interns inside the institute and directly supervising them.”
