The Artificial Intelligence Industry Convergence Center (AICA, Director Sangjin Oh) announced on the twenty first that it held an ‘AI Partnership Day’ on the Gwangju Holiday Inn Hotel Convention Hall to introduce AI startups and business models to investors.
AI Partnership Day is one in all the ‘Artificial Intelligence Centered Industrial Convergence Complex Creation Projects’ promoted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, Gwangju Metropolitan City, National IT Industry Promotion Agency, and AI Business Group.
Ten AI startups, including Aponati, Gendata, Battery, Dentalbus, Bookend, Kkun, Nextkey, Bartle, Infopla, and Softsquared, participated on this event. They strengthened their IR capabilities through consulting and investment attraction mentoring for business model verification and improvement over the past three months before pitching.
As a way to evaluate the investment potential of startups, 40 enterprise capitals (VCs) and accelerators (ACs) visited the event, closely examining the expansion potential of firms and discussing collaboration and investment. Particularly, many TIPS operators attended, making it a spot of greater opportunity for startups. The event also featured product exhibitions by AI startups, providing investors with a possibility to experience them firsthand.
Oh Sang-jin, head of the AI business division, said, “This event was a beneficial opportunity for AI startups to speak directly with investors and make sure the potential of their business models.” He added, “We are going to proceed to supply various support to assist modern AI firms proceed to grow, and thru this, we’ll do our greatest to be certain that Gwangju and Korea can establish themselves as the middle of the worldwide AI industry.”
