Jeollanam-do announced that it’ll hold the ‘2024 Jeollanam-do Return to Fishing Small Expo’ at Mokpo National Maritime University Gymnasium on the seventeenth. This event was designed to offer a possibility for city residents who want to return to fishing to fulfill with Jeollanam-do’s excellent fishing villages in person, seek the advice of with them, and proceed with the return to fishing procedures.
14 excellent fishing villages from 9 cities and counties, including Yeosu, Boseong, Yeonggwang, Haenam, and Gangjin, will participate, and plans are in place to strengthen support for returning fish through the supply of varied information and consultations.
Participating fishing communities plan to introduce an ‘associate membership system’ to lower the brink for entry into the fishing community and encourage those hoping to return to fishing to sign a mutually helpful contract with the fishing community to attenuate conflict.
As well as, the Jeonnam Return to Fishing Village Support Center provides information on empty houses and jobs, and helps those hoping to return to fishing villages easily obtain the data they need.
This Expo is receiving great attention nationwide because of the consistent efforts of Jeollanam-do Province, and expectations are high, with over 200 city residents expressing their intention to participate upfront.
Jeollanam-do Province hopes that this event will enable more city dwellers to settle in Jeollanam-do’s fishing villages and begin a brand new life.
