Samsung Electronics has confirmed again that it’s going to release its voice assistant ‘Bixby’ equipped with its own Large Language Model (LLM) this 12 months. That is the primary time that a release date has been revealed, following the primary disclosure of this fact in an interview last March.
CNBC reported that Samsung Electronics President Roh Tae-moon revealed this fact on the ‘Unpacked’ event held in Paris, France on the tenth (local time).
“We are going to further develop Bixby by applying generative AI technology,” said President Roh.
He also said, “We’re strengthening and introducing more AI functions into our products,” and explained, “As consumers use AI functions more, they will actually feel the convenience and advantages they carry. I firmly imagine that this Galaxy AI and mobile AI are strong motivations and driving forces for purchasing recent products.”
News of Bixby’s upgrade was first revealed on March 31 in an interview with CNBC and Samsung Electronics Vice President Won-Joon Choi. “With the arrival of generative AI and LLM technology, I feel we want to redefine the role of Bixby by equipping it with generative AI in order that it could change into even smarter in the long run,” said Vice President Choi.
