Discord adds generative artificial intelligence (AI) functions akin to ‘ChatGPT’ and ‘Dali’ to the chatting platform ‘Discord’. Discord is a chat platform utilized by over 150 million people.

At first, it began as a voice chat app for games, but with the addition of generative AI, it has grown right into a chat platform with multimedia functions akin to text, audio, and video.

Foreign media akin to Reuters and Bloomberg reported on the ninth (local time) that Discord will upgrade its chatbot ‘Clyde’ by applying open AI technology, and can apply it to some community groups from next week.

Discord plans to supply additional services akin to summarizing conversations or decorating user avatars.

With this update, Clyde, like ChatGPT, can answer user questions, schedule meetings, and summarize conversations that occurred while the user was away. By grafting Dali’s image creation function, it is usually equipped with an avatar decorating function.

Additionally it is known that Discord can be considering introducing OpenAI technology so as to add a function to robotically block harmful or unwanted messages in chat.

“We’re seeing some of the exciting moments within the rise of technology,” said Discord CEO Jason Citron.
